Alberto Morago Muñoz

I was born in Madrid in 1979 in a family where painting and music have always been present, capturing my attention from an early age.
In 2000 I started Fine Art Studies at the Complutense University of Madrid after a brief stint in Philosophy at the same university.
During my Art studies I developed a brief career in painting, being selected in a few contests and exhibitions, such as the 17th edition of the L'Oreal painting awards in 2001 or the first prize in the Friends Foundation 15th painting contest in Madrid in 2003 among others.
After completing my studies, leaving the painting at its most orthodox form, and getting closer to photography, both analogic and digital, and not so new digital formats, I developed a career as a photographer in several fields, but mainly producing a more experimental and personal work.
In 2010 I began to reconcile the photography with the cinematography job for a few short films and music videos, getting to work as the director of photography in the feature film "Casting" in 2011, and “They all die in the end” in 2012.
After a period living in Berlin, I return to Madrid in 2013 with the primary intention of developing my personal project Sweet Home. A long-term project, which thrives on the idea of a timeless dystopian reality that could very well be the present in which we live.

SWEET HOME PROJECT

Sweet home is a photographic approach supported by audiovisual pieces.
With no story line, no beginning or end. It does not tell a story, just set and share feelings.
Completely loose interpretation fictions.
The set designs, specially created for the characters that inhabit them, try to represent common situations of everyday life.
Finding resignation and even comfort in oppression. T
he non-reaction in front of  a crushing capitalism.
The Media noise abuse, distorting the information and manipulating it.
The difficulty of finding creativity and healthy inspiration, in personal, social and human degrading situations.

Living in the imposed inertia.
